Tinnitus Clinical Trial

Yesterday Lia and I had the pleasure of doing something just slightly different from our daily routines.  We were part of a group of 5 people working together to collect data for a new approach to tinnitus treatment.

Testing was done and protocols explained and we are hopeful that all of the participants will see noticeable improvement in their tinnitus.

What was apparent from today was that the sound of each person’s tinnitus is not like any others.  It’s almost like a fingerprint.  And what also came out of today was a larger sense of empathy and compassion for those who live daily with sounds that are described as “angry mosquitos” or “sirens” and how for years they have been told to “just learn to live with it”.

I look forward to following these volunteer subjects over the next months to  measure improvement and more importantly, to continue learning about tinnitus and to offer people some form of relief.
