Bernafon: “Your hearing – Our Passion”

Bernafon was founded in 1926 as Gfeller AG, developing and producing electromechanical devices.  Gfeller AG introduced Switzerland’s first hearing instrument in 1946, and expanded to the U.S. in 1986. By 1987, Bernafon was actually the first to develop a digitally programmable hearing aid – and the first fully digital device came out in 1999. The Danish holding group William Demant Holding A/S acquired the company in 1995 and renamed it Bernafon, expanding to Canada in 2000 by acquiring Dahlberg Sciences.
