I was born in Chicago and grew up in Toronto and Singapore before my family finally settled in Victoria.  I completed a Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria in 2006, and then moved to Vancouver to study at the University of British Columbia, where I completed my Masters of Science in Audiology in 2008.

After graduation, I moved to Calgary and worked in public health audiology with patients of all ages, doing diagnostic hearing and balance testing, and working with some hearing aids.  Working in this environment, I was able to develop valuable knowledge and skills in hearing assessments and hearing aid amplification, while getting the opportunity to work with people of different backgrounds and hearing abilities.

I moved back to Victoria with my fiancé in 2010, and started working at Broadmead Hearing Clinic in September.  I love coming to work every day – I feel that every client’s experience is unique and interesting, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to see the difference that hearing aids can make in people’s lives.  Hearing is so important in that it keeps us connected to the people we care about, and it is so rewarding for me to be a part of helping our clients reestablish these connections through better hearing.

In my time outside of work, I enjoy keeping active through running and swimming, traveling, reading, and spending time with my family and friends.

Hearing Fact

More than 8 million Canadians have some type of hearing problem. Hearing difficulties are often unrecognized by the person involved. Children and teenagers seldom complain about the symptoms of hearing loss, and adults may lose their hearing so gradually they do not realize it is happening.

The first step in treatment of a hearing problem is a hearing evaluation by an audiologist.

Testimonials

The purpose of this email is to commend both you and your staff for your courtesy and attention over a recent two month period. Throughout the entire testing, tryout of two separate units, and ultimate purchase of a higher end model,  I received exemplary counsel and care. At all times I was treated like a prince, welcomed at each visit, educated in all aspects of the aids, and fully supported as I reluctantly arrived at the decision that my very real hearing impairment required correction.

On a scale of one to five stars I easily rank the Broadmead Hearing Clinic at a solid five! And may wish you every future success. Thank you.
